Thrift style: Styling my favorite thrifted pieces with t-shirts.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve had one hell of a June so far! Last weekend I drove down to Cincinnati for a flea market and stayed in THE CUTEST Air Bnb I’ve ever seen. I took this and the fact that I was traveling alone as an opportunity to take some photos in the adorable space!
So I’m sharing with you some of my thrifting finds and how I wear them!
This outfit has 2 thrifted pieces! The floral blazer and the yellow shorts are both thrifted. I love sifting through the blazers when I’m thrifting. You can find some really well made ones that are clear quality (although I will almost always remove shoulder pads!) I love this blazer and can’t wait to wear it this summer, because I can push the sleeves up and use it as a lightweight item in the evenings!
I just got the shorts and haven’t worn them much but I love a high waisted short that isn’t tight on the thighs. I immediately knew they would go great with this floral print as well!
I am DYING for a reason to wear this outfit out somewhere. I’ve worn these vintage twill trousers a bunch, in various forms of dressed up. But a t-shirt with heels is something I admire so much and need to do more of! These trousers cinch the waist and hit me right above the ankle, perfect for a pump!
The skirt is the thrifted piece in this outfit but it didn’t start out as a skirt! I bought it as a long dress (think 90’s/Rachel Green) that was way too big for me. But I loved the print so I did a little DIY and turned it into an elastic waisted skirt and a cropped tie top. They look great together but I also love wearing the pieces separate, like this outfit!
When I found these cream wide leg pants I knew I had to have them! I wasn’t sure how much wear they would get but they are so soft and I’m a big fan of mixing creams and tans together. So it was worth it to me and I’ve found reasons to wear either with a t-shirt, a sweater, or a blouse!
Uh oh, no t-shirts here! I had to share these 2 pieces anyway. I got these jeans thrifted a while back and I wear them so much! But pairing a jean with a tee is too easy, so I put it with this blouse, another one of my favorite finds! This blouse is much brighter than what I normally wear but it’s 100% silk and I just couldn’t help myself!
I love thrifting to save a few bucks but I also feel good about giving clothes a new life! Fashion can be so wasteful so getting to have something new but knowing no additional waste was created for me to have it makes it that much sweeter.
