We're Moving! New Home Decor Mood Boards.

I am so happy to say we are officially moving! I couldn't allow myself to visualize how I would decorate this house until I knew it was ours, so once we signed the lease my brain went into overtime! Of course I've been saving ideas, colors, and furniture pieces for quite some time but to think about how your inspiration will manifest inside your specific space is so much more fun. Some of these boards are very specifically how I will decorate our home and some are just 'someday' dream boards (read: I don't think landlords allow tenants to replace tiles and kitchen countertops!). Anyways, I wanted to share some of my favorite inspiration images that have given my interior design dreams shape.

Blush. Gray. Navy. I am OBSESSED with this color scheme for a bedroom! I love the simplicity of it. These colors with light wood furniture and white accents, it is the perfect minimal bedroom.

Our new bathroom, unfortunately, does not have subway tiles or fancy cabinets BUT I finally get a bathtub for the first time in years! I'm very, very excited about this. My colors for our current bathroom are mint, pale pink, and gold. I found small paintings of a cute little bathroom at a thrift store with these colors and used this for the whole room. The towels are mint colored as well as the rugs and now that I'll be needing a shower curtain that will play into the color scheme as well! These photos are mostly dreams but the color inspiration is real!

This is something I am SO excited about! I currently have a work space but I have always dreamed of a super trendy office/work space and I am committed to making this happen in the new house. I love white offices with accent colors, pin boards on the walls for inspiration, cute desk chairs, and big desks for two work spaces!

My mood board for the living room is part realistic, part dream. A lot of my home decor fantasies center around an emerald velvet sofa which are not only expensive, but so not puppy proof! However, the idea of having a clean, minimal living room with neutral colors and a nice new couch (preferably jewel toned, velvet or not) is within our reach.

This too is mostly a 'someday when we own a home' vision board. But I do love these different dining room tables.I love mismatched chairs and bold framed photos and interesting light fixtures. It's all about working with what you've got and I'm very excited to take a new space and make it our own! There's so much you can do to a house with out replacing tiles or cabinets. Sometimes some fresh paint and a few great pieces of furniture is all you need! It's a process but one that can be so enjoyable, especially if you already have mood boards to work from!
